The Dead Bride

I usually love Lady Gaga wacky designs but i usually like that they have a humorous edge....but there is something about this gothic bride look that i think is a bit too dark! Apparently its in conjunction with her Twitter suicide, where a number of celebrities are boycotting twitter until they raise enough money for Aids. .
I must say the vail looks beautiful, i would hate to imagine the about of work that went into it just to be worn shopping in Chanel

I could never imagine going shopping wearing shoes like that, I have enough trouble keeping my balance in flats

I think what i dont like is how restrictive the catsuit looks I know she has a reputation to keep up but go back to lighthearted like these photos

Romantic Pearls

I had an evening off from doing uni work so decided to have a go at making a new bracelet that i had a design for in my head! It isn't exactly what i wanted as all the beads were the same size but it still looks pretty...What do you think??

I am making jewellery for business An Affair With Scarlett. We are currently trying to make as much jewellery for The Christmas Fair in Manchester's Triangle but once its over we will be filling our website full of lovely goodies for you to buy!If you ever fancy anything being made or a bracelet you like but would like to change the colours just let me know i am sure i can whip up something you will love!!xx

Kate Middleton Bride-to-be

According to Marie Claire Kate Middletons wedding gown could be designed by Issa's Daniella Issa Helayel, rumor has it that she has began to create a custom made bridal gown! Kate has worn gowns by Issa on a number of occasions including the official announcement of her engagement to Prince William. The dresses all look beautiful on Kate and are very flattering. They all are sexy but not revealing and appropriate for a young woman that i hope the public remember she is.

Hope she decides on a simple dress like the ones in the photos above instead of the traditional meringue that has become the norm. Besides upsetting millions of women hoping to one day marry the gorgeous Prince I think she will make an amazing Princess and a great role model.

Valentino for Gap

Valentinos capsule collection for Gap is lovely. I was hoping there would be a dress as they make them beautifully but the coats are so interesting. I really like how they create the wave effect with the fabric making the jackets looks more girly. I may just have to try one on if i ever see one in Gap. I like that it looks like a Gap coat, that will protect you in severe weathers and still has the fashionable edge not making the wearer look dowdy or bulky.

The Boleros add a nice touch to any outfit, maybe if paired with the trousers it would be too much but would be nice with a dress and thick wooly tights.

Blake Lively

Usually i feel that Blake Livelys outfits are slightly on the revealing side but i think this dress is beautiful on her, its the perfect colour for her skin, fits her body shape exactly its......amazing!! she wore it for the Lorraine Schwartz launch of the second jewellery line in New york!
The dress is of course Versace and the shoes are of course Louboutin

Street Trend: Fur Trim

I have been dying for a pair of boots with a fur trim for aaaages! I had my eye on a lovely pair from Urban Outfitters but by the time i had got round to the store all the black ones had been sold out and only a sand colour in size 8 was left. I then rushed home to try and get them online, where again they were sold out. So disappointed I scoured the internet determind to find a similar pair, typing into google as many different adjectives as i could.
Boot with Fur trim
Ankle Boot with Fur Trim
Flat Ankle Boot with Fur Trim
Black Flat Ankle Boot with Fur Trim
Black Flat Ankle Boot with Fur Trim in Size 6
Eventually I found a pair on Amazon, in a Store called My 1st Wish - Shoes and Accessories. For £31.99 they were slightly cheaper then the Urban Outfitter pair and... I had to get them straight away!!
I love them they are so comfy and in rainy, cold Manchester they are a good substitute for a pair of Ugg Boots. I now need the Aviator jacket i have been lusting after in Miss Selfridge but as its £50 i may need to  wait until my first pay cheque from Next.

Twilight

In Style and Marie Claire both sent out emails today showing photos of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson filming in the first part of Breaking Dawn in Brazil. I am soooo excited for the next two films. The first part inparticular. Mostly.......I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE WEDDING!! I read the final book this summer and it is by far the best. I cannot wait to see the wedding dress and the marque they get married under, also Esme Island, you just know it will be amazing!
I love the dress Kristen is wearing, i really hope they choose a similar simple style for her wedding dress, that dress alone would be perfect for her wedding gown.
The photos are so cute, as Marie Claire said ' Can you fake a connection like that?

Jewellery Classes

On friday i went to my first Jewellery Class in The Bead Shop in Aflecks Palace. I have to learn how to make jewellery properly as for my dissertation we have to make a business, and as jewellery has always been an interests of mine, me and 3 other girls have got together to create handmade vintage inspired jewellery. I will be making another blog dedicated to our business which is called An Affair With Scarlett, ill give you the link when we have pieces worth showing you.
I went with my friend Laura and when we arrived we were taken into a cute little room with a desk. On the desk were mats with all the little bits and bobs that we would need to make a necklace and pair of earrings. Little bowls of different beads were dotted all around the table that Emily Kersh our teacher had set out.
Step by Step she showed us how to make clasps, secure beads into place all leading to the final piece, here is mine halfway though.
After making the necklace we were shown how to create drop earrings, When leaving they gave us a small bag to keep your jewellery in, a 10% discount card to use in The Bead Shop and a booklet showing the steps used in class. It was £10 for the 2 hour class and it was great. There were other lovely ladies and everyone had a laugh, complementing each others designs and helping each other out. I would definitely recommend it. Hopefully i will be attending their Romantic Charm Bracelet class. Here are our finished pieces.

Lanvin for H&M

oI am soooo excited for this collection. Last year me and one of my best friends stood in the Manchester H&M store for 4 hours to get out hands on the Jimmy Choo collection, coming out very successful with a pair of shoes, handbag and a bracelet. The shoes I brought were the pair on the top right, I love them and still have never worn them as the sole is pure leather and I need to get them re-soled so they don't get ruined and begin to go misshapen (something I have still never got round to doing sadly)

Ive just seen the Lanvin collection on Vogue.com shows an AMAZING dress form £150 and it is guaranteed to fly off the shelves. The collection is beautiful one. I think i need to find a new buddy that will wait in line with me all day as my equally fashion obsessed friend is about to have a baby. The collection hits the shops on the 23rd November, Any Volunteers??

Nail polish Stickers

I came across these last year when Topshop were doing a pamper day for charity, when i donated my £5 i got a free facial, my hair done by the James Brown Team and my Make up & nails done. The stickers just get smoothed out on the nail and a blast of heat from the hair dryer helps it stay for almost a week. So as it was halloween and i was going to my first Warehouse Project (info coming up in another post) i decided to make an effort and as i had seen a nail technician do it before i thought i could have a good stab at not making a mess of it. I really like the effect of them and it made my night when i handed my ticket in on entry to the WHP and the girl noticed and told me how great the looked. They are made by Elegant Touch and were on promotion for £5 in Superdrug. Two days later they are still on and looking good so i definitely recommend them.

P.s They have also been advertised in last weeks Look magazine, 'Nail Rock Designer Nail Wraps' for £6.50 available on Asos. I have my eye on their leopard print and red polka dot ones :)

The Vintage Fair - Whitworth Gallery

Yesterday i visited The Vintage Fair in The Whitworth Gallery. Due to annoying transport issues i wasnt able to get there until half three and was really disappointed as i knew i would have missed out on soo many great things. Once i got into the gallery i didnt know where to begin so first i made sure i had my camera and took a photo of the room.

As i wandered round  all the vintage clothing I was drawn to the cupcake stand that were displaying their cakes in a chest of drawers, it looked to cute!

Also near the cupcake stand was Le Keux Events doing ladies Hair, Make up & Nails. The artists all looked amazing in their forties inspired outfits.

Le Keux also has a number of flyers advertising their Mad Hatters Tea Party, where guests would take part in a Fascinator workshop during the tea party. It is on the 21st November in the Rose tearooms in Warwickshire, if interested go to their website if interested in tickets to join. They also Hold Pin Up Photo shoots for £99 current dates are on 22nd January in Birmingham and 28th January in London. If interested in holding any Vintage Event they are definitely the ones to get in touch with.

(I Just thought the hats looked cute)

I fell in love with so many pieces at this stand. They are Yellow Squirrel they had Jewellery ranging from £2 for Earring to £35 for necklaces. Due to being a poor student i wasnt able to buy much and i had to drag myself away from the bracelets below. I was desperate to buy the gold bow £12 and loved that they bent around my wrist perfectly but i just had to make do with grabbing their card and hoping that i could get some of their stuff for chirstmas

These bags were a bargain at £2.50!!

The only purchase i did make was it Historys Attic, i was just wandering past browsing and although it had a handful of ladies already at their stall i saw it over someone's shoulder and i knew i had to have it. Im not even sure what i will wear it with yet but i just couldn't resist!!
